The International Symposium on Global Governance and National Responsibility (Donghu Forum on Global Governance 2015) was held at East Lake Hotel in Wuhan from December 12 to 13, 2015. Dean and Professor of School of Sociology, CCNU, Darrell Irwin attended the symposium and made a paper presentation on “Contesting Governance Models: How Rivalries between the Beijing and Washington Consensus Models Shape Africa”, along with other high-caliber scholars and experts from around the world.

This international symposium is jointly sponsored by Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) and China World Peace Foundation, and organized by the Institute of State Governance, HUST. Li Hongzhong (Secretary of Hubei Provincial Committee of CPC), Xu Qingsen (Vice Director of Department of Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education of P.R.C.), Lu Gang (Secretary of the HUST Committee of CPC), Li Ruohong (Chairman of China World Peace Foundation), Ouyang Kang (Dean of the Institute of National Governance at HUST), attended the opening ceremony and gave opening speeches.

Prof. Darrell Irwin’s presentation was arranged at the same session with James A. Loiacono (Council for Research in Values and Philosophy, USA), Mileidy Aguirre Diaz (the Representative of Ambassador of Cuba in China), Zhou Zunnan (Director of European Research Center, China Foreign Affairs University), Toumert Al Khalloufi (Ambassador Consul of the Kingdom of Morocco in China, Secretary General of Sino-Morocco Friendship Association), Wang Liwen (China Pacific Foundation), from 10:30 to 12:00, December 13.
