The 2015 Annual Meeting of Hubei Sociological Association was held at South Central University for Nationalities on January 9, 2016. Dean Darrell Irwin and Vice Dean Jiang Lihua attended the meeting on behalf of School of Sociology, Central China Normal University. Sociology department/school leaders from South Central University for Nationalities, Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Huazhong Agricultural University, and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, all attended the meeting.

As Chair of Hubei Sociological Association, Prof. Lei Hong from Huazhong University of Science and Technology began the meeting with a recap of the Association’s major work in 2015. The annual work report was followed by 5 research presentations from 5 universities. Prof. Lyu Fang made a presentation entitled “Policy Manager: Supportive Government and the Rise of New Rural Elites” on behalf of School of Sociology of CCNU. The other 4 presentations came from South Central University for Nationalities, Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Huazhong Agricultural University.
